MLIS-Law JD Dual Degree
About
This dual-degree program is designed for the student seeking directorship in an academic law library or management of a corporate law library.
Credentials for this program are also important for advanced reference and electronic document management in a legal setting. Courses and internships guide students to specialize in copyright law and issues related to intellectual property and intellectual freedom.
The dual MLIS–J.D. in Law program requires completion of a minimum of 114 credit hours of graduate coursework. Students must apply for admission to the Master of Library and Information Science program in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering as well as to the School of Law within the first academic year and meet the admission criteria established for each.
The two degrees must be awarded simultaneously.
