About

If you're curious about people, cultures, and the forces that shape human experience, the Master of Arts in Applied Anthropology at the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis offers a hands-on path to making a difference.

As the only discipline that integrates biological, cultural, linguistic, and archaeological perspectives, anthropology provides a holistic understanding of what it means to be human.

Through research, internships, and community-engaged projects, you'll apply anthropological theory to real-world challenges while exploring areas such as medical anthropology, urban issues, globalization, and museum studies.

Graduates are prepared for careers in cultural resource management, public health, international development, museums, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and other fields where understanding people, communities, and social systems drives meaningful change.
