Master of Arts for Teachers

About

This is an online program.

The IU Online Master of Arts for Teachers (MAT) in Mathematics combines coursework in education and mathematics to prepare you to be a dual-credit instructor at the high school and community college levels.

Learn how to analyze and interpret mathematical data for real-world applications and to apply the best methods for teaching these lessons to an undergraduate audience. In the mathematics component of the program, you'll develop advanced knowledge in three mathematical areas of focus.

The educational component of the program covers instruction and curriculum, assessment, diversity and inclusive teaching, and research. Learn how to apply the science and art of teaching to college-level instruction.

This 100% online, consortial program is taught by IU South Bend, IU East, IU Kokomo, IU Northwest, and IU Southeast. This consortial model allows you to take coursework from several campuses and learn from a wide range of faculty.

You'll graduate with an Indiana University degree respected by employers worldwide—and you can work on yours anytime and anywhere. Plus, you'll enjoy personalized support services throughout your academic journey.

And the benefits start long before graduation. More than half of IU Online students advance in their careers before they complete their degree.
