Sociology is the scientific study of human relationships and focuses on the causes and consequences of human group behavior.
Sociologists are concerned with the divisions of society along cultures that have shared learned beliefs and behavior patterns. Information gathered about society is used to make generalizations and predictions about causes and consequences of behavior.
The Sociology Department at IU Southeast offers the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a traditional track. You will have the opportunity to complete 30 credit hours in sociology courses and will learn how to apply sociological theories and methods to social issues in your community, your nation, and the world.
