This course is an introduction to the formulation and analysis of dynamic optimization problems. Topics include: characterizing the form of the optimal policy; checking the optimality of myopic policies; methods for checking the motonicity of optimal policies. The concepts are illustrated primarily in the context of stochastic inventory control problems.
