BUS-S 798: THEORY DEVELOPMENT (1.5 - 3 credits)

About

The goal of this course is to help you learn to build theory and write a research/dissertation proposal. There are two specific objectives. By the end of the course: -you will be able to conceive of and present new theoretical ideas, and match them with a viable research methodology; and -you will have a draft of a research proposal The readings and the discussions about them form one core of this course. They provide the background and ways to think about theory building and proposal writing. The second core is your ideas and your comments on the ideas of others. You should examine each reading we discuss through two different lenses: -Process: What can I learn about doing research from this? -Personal: What can I use from this in my research right now?
