The Assurance Academy is directed at graduate students who intend to practice audit and assurance services, either for public and registered accounting firms, or as internal auditors in industry. It consists of presentations by practitioners in the professions, including individuals from independent public accounting firms, internal auditors, and regulatory organizations, such as the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, State Boards of Accountancy, the Institute of Internal Auditors and board audit committee representatives. The Academy is established for the purpose of greatly enhancing students' knowledge of concurrent thoughts of those in leadership positions in the assurance effort for global industry and government finance.
