The September 11, 2001, attacks prompted the on-going "War on Terrorism" against Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. This course examines this conflict while focusing on Afghanistan as a multi-ethnic modern nation-state, ravaged by a century of internal colonialism, and most recently by foreign invasions, proxy wars, and global terrorism.
