The breakup of the Soviet Union has dramatically increased global interest in Central Asia. This course offers students opportunity to explore Central Asia's role in world history, in Islam, and as linking East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. Readings include Central Asian sources in English translation.
