This class introduces basic communication skills in Kazakh. Students learn the sounds, alphabet, and basic grammar. Upon finishing, students will be able to use Kazakh in basic communicative contexts. Readings, class discussions, listening activities adapted from Kazakh language media programs. Films and extra-curricular cultural activities develop awareness of Kazakh culture.
