The first semester focuses on the Arabic script as used in Ottoman. Relevant Arabic and Persian grammar will be incorporated into the lectures and exercises. We will read and analyze (morphology and syntax) twentieth-century printed Ottoman texts. Course structure adjusted according to students' level.
