To introduce the student to techniques for fabrication, characterization, and modeling of materials with an emphasis on nanostructures. Methods (top down) for the creation and characterization of nanostructures; band structure, conductivity, optical properties, and quantum confinement, assembly, liquids, and phas transitions.
