CLAS-C 422: GREEK SCULPTURE (3 - 4 credits)

Analytical survey of ancient Greek sculpture from the Archaic through the Classical periods (c. 600-323 B.C.). Topics include the origins and techniques of Greek sculptures, free-standing and architectural sculpture in religious, funerary, and public contexts, lost "masterpieces" of ancient Greek art, and the problem of Roman copies.
