This course will examine how tense and aspect concepts and categories, such as perfective/imperfective, duratives, past and non-past, etc. are manifested in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean from a typological point of view. Particular attention will be paid to how much cross-linguistic or language-specific the tense-aspect patterns of each language are.
