EAS-A 594: DATA ASSIMILATION TECHNIQUES AND APPLICATIONS (3 credits)

About

Covers conceptual foundations of numerical techniques commonly used in numerical weather prediction for atmospheric and oceanic modeling including methods for partial differential equations, physical parameterizations, data assimilation, and the related accuracy and stability of numerical solutions. Particular effort will be made to provide hands-on experiences on high-performance supercomputing environment.
