This course focuses on fluency and vocabulary in reading and writing development, emphasizing methods for teaching fluency and vocabulary using explicit and systematic instruction in grades 3-6 for word study (morphology), grammar (syntax), and spelling(orthography). This course equips preservice teachers with culturally responsive methods for teaching multilingual learners and biliteracies.
