Explores the regulation of gender relations through the institutions of state, church, and/or civil society, including: public policies; laws and their enforcement; religions; ethical and moral norms; and other social conventions and cultural norms. Strong focus on cross-cultural and transnational comparisons and may be thematically concentrated around case studies.
