HIST-H 245: CONVICT SYDNEY AND THE GADIGAL: EXPLORING AUSTRALIAN HISTORY SINCE 1788 AT SYDNEY COVE (4 credits)

About

The central theme of this course is the role of "place" in history, focusing on Sydney and its surrounds. How was it viewed by the Europeans who first settled there, and by its original inhabitants--the Gadigal people? The course culminates in a trip to Sydney where students will be able to make connections between what they see in modern Sydney and what they have learned in class.
