LAW-B 642: APPELLATE ADVOCACY (1 - 3 credit)

Fundamental skills of appellate advocacy, emphasis being equally divided between brief-writing and oral argument. The first phase of the course consists of classroom instruction, primarily in the form of lectures by appellate practitioners and judges together with video-taped demonstrations of oral argument. Second phase consists of assignment to students of a case to brief and argue before moot court.
