Course surveys history, current historiography, traditional views, of Egypt from end of the Amarna Period through the end of Egypt's traditional culture, (c. 1340 BCE - 450 CE). Course emphasizes political and economic history, with attention also to cultural questions, particularly art and religious aspects of the ideology of kingship.
