This course focuses on three main areas: major concepts in pragmatics, Arabic pragmatic research, and Arabic instructional pragmatics. Main concepts and theories in pragmatics are introduced, and major Arabic pragmatic research studies are examined. Instructional pragmatics is presented in the context of teaching Arabic as a foreign language.
