Major theories and concepts in SLA are introduced, and SLA research investigating the acquisition of Arabic phonology, morphology, syntax, vocabulary, and language skills, is examined. A discussion of how SLA theory and research can inform language pedagogy is presented in the context of teaching Arabic as a foreign language.
