Students will acquire and develop skills needed to write original songs, both lyrics and music. Lyric topics of study include self-expression, prosody, rhyme, and use of metaphor and imagery. Music topics of study include melody, chords and chord progressions, rhythm/groove, song form, song analysis, and in-class and public song performance.
