Reviews the core topics in the synchronic linguistics of Polish: word structure (morphology), Polish speech sounds, phonological processes, and issues in syntax. Explores how the linguistic phenomena are different or similar to those found in other, especially Slavic, languages. No knowledge of Polish is presupposed.
