SLHS-S 501: NEUROLOGICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (3 credits)

This course will introduce students to the anatomical and physiological bases of human communication. Topics will include neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of the central and peripheral nervous systems; neural substrates of speech and language; respiratory, phonatory, articulatory, and swallowing physiology; and current theories of motor control.
