The development and application of ecological principles to restore or re-create ecological structure and function of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. This course covers basic concepts of ecosystem restoration, including development of energy flow and nutrient cycles, soil formation, mechanisms of species dispersal and colonization, and mutualistic relationships.
