About
The CDC describes disease surveillance and monitoring as "the systematic collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of data for use in prioritizing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health programs, activities, and practices". The disease surveillance and monitoring is one of the fundamental activities of Public Health in the United States and other developed, developing countries, and represents the primary source of information about the health of a population. This course will focus on the fundamental processes and procedures to investigate and track infectious and communicable diseases as well as non-infectious chronic diseases.
