Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms and is an essential component of environmental health and public health. This course will provide the basic principles of toxicology in its application to public health. The course will be divided into three components: the general mechanism of toxic agents, the effect of toxic agents on target tissues and organs, and selective toxic chemicals or class of chemicals.
