ANES-B 541: PROFESSIONALISM I (1 credit)

About

Through classroom teaching and interactive discussions this course presents an introduction/overview of the Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) profession. Emphasis is placed upon the inception, history, and evolution of the AA profession; AA relationships with the supervising physician, the patient; responsibilities including the concepts of privilege, and confidentiality. The scope of AA practice, medical informatics systems and the concept of the quality of care and safety will also be introduced. Students will participate in class discussions and role playing exercises to explore the ethical and legal aspects of practicing as an Anesthesiologist Assistant.
