This course will focus on instrumental analysis of trace evidence. Mass spectrometry, chromatography, FT-IR, Raman, SEM-EDX, XRF, and microspectrophotometry will be covered. The application of these techniques to the analysis of toxicological samples and trace evidence (fibers, paint, ignitable liquids, explosives, gunshot residue, and glass) will also be covered.
