GEOL-G 536: EARTH OBSERVATION FROM SPACE (3 credits)

About

Introduction to the physical principles and strategies underlying the spectroscopic analysis of remotely-sensed data. Topics include spectral characteristics of geologic materials at visible, near-infrared and shortwave infrared wavelengths, imaging spectroscopy, examples of applying hyperspectral remote sensing data for geologic mapping. Lab assignments on reflectance spectroscopy and image processing are included.
