GER-G 383: 19TH-CENTURY GERMAN LITERATURE (3 credits)

About

Introduces students to major works of German literature written between 1830 and 1900, an age of tremendous social and industrial transformation. Literary concepts such as Realism and Naturalism will be analyzed alongside theories of genre, modernity, and gender. Authors include the Brothers Grimm, Buechner, Marx, Nietzsche, Hauptmann, Fontane, and Wedekind.
