Advanced study of the cardiovascular system using contemporary methods is emphasized. Concepts of cardiovascular structure, function, hemodynamics, excitation-contraction coupling, signal transduction and electrophysiology are reinforced. The format of the course will include faculty lectures and facilitated interactive student discussion.
