About
Designed as a progressive course to meet twenty-first century healthcare trends, this specialized training course will address three clinical populations in five (5) classes per unit: Medical, Addictions and Older Adults. Each unit will follow a similar outline of learning tailored to the clinical population. This will include a brief history of counseling and psychotherapy theory and treatment implications for each population and how art therapists tailor interventions to meet the specialized needs within the general framework of art therapy theory. Didactic instruction will include when and how to refer clients and families to support services, professional boundaries, issues of transference and countertransference, treatment planning and the development of goals.
