HIST-F 360: NATURAL DISASTERS IN LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY (3 credits)

About

Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, droughts, famines, volcanoes, epidemics, and climatic events have repeatedly struck Latin America from pre-colonial times to the present. Natural disasters allow historians to examine the relationship between humans and the environment and explore the politics, societies, economics, and cultures of the region from a unique perspective.
