LAW-N 685: RACE AND THE LAW (2 - 3 credits)

This course examines the response of law to racial issues presented in a variety of contemporary legal contexts, including in the contexts of civil procedure, property, torts, contracts, and criminal law and procedure. It will explore racial issues in the context of employment law, education law, and other areas of U.S. law in which racial issues are presented. The course will examine international human rights law instruments that apply in the U.S. and that specifically address race in the context of law interpreting and applying international and domestic law.
