This course should build upon basic knowledge of genetics, with resulting insight and recognition of genetic problems of patients and their prospective offspring. The study should be aware of socio-economic and psychological stigmas associated with genetic anomalies and be able to refer those afflicted patients to competent genetic counseling centers.
