This class introduces concepts integral to the practice of neurogenetic counseling. Topics include inheritance and presentation of inherited epilepsies, movement disorders, dementias, and muscular dystrophies among others; nervous system development and function; examination, imaging and genetic testing for neurogenetic conditions; presymptomatic testing protocols; and psychosocial issues of neurogenetic disorders.
