This course offers theoretical and practical investigations of preventive conservation of artifacts which aims to eliminate or modify conditions that encourage deterioration. Topics include measures that prevent or reduce the potential for damage and loss including proper storage, environmental management, agents of deterioration, risk and analysis, emergency preparedness, and planning.
