We introduce students to basic epidemiologic concepts including mathematical methods used, patterns of disease in populations, descriptive techniques, use of publicly available data sources, the role of epidemiology in developing prevention strategies and policy, measures of mortality and morbidity, design and analysis of observational studies, and presenting data to stakeholders.-
