The uses of power, sex, and money have long been debated by religious thinkers. This course examines how diverse traditions of moral reasoning in Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, and Islam mix with American society, politics and law. Focal issues include war, terrorism, and nonviolence; marriage, gender, and sexuality; economic justice; and religious freedom.
