SOC-R 349: VICTIMOLOGY (3 credits)

About

Living in an ever changing society, everybody can be a potential victim of a crime. This course explores victims of different crimes, including violent crime, economic crime and crime in our living/working environments, causes and consequences of victimization, resources available to help victims, and more importantly, the effective ways to prevent criminal victimization. For students who have interest in study of medical sociology, family, gender, social work, criminal justice, and social organization, the issue of victimization is an important aspect worth exploring in these fields.
