This course design introduces students to basic counseling skills and techniques. Skills such as listening, attending, interviewing and treatment planning will be discussed and practiced by students. Students will be introduced to motivational interviewing techniques. The course utilizes didactic and experiential teaching methods to enhance students' learning.
