About
A capstone course concerned with current topics and issues in chemistry. The capstone experience may be offered as independent study under the supervision of a chemistry faculty member. Credits can be earned in part by completion of a library-related research project to demonstrate the applicability of some aspect of chemistry to the solution of a problem of current interest or importance. This project can explore current approaches to solving the problem or, following a search of the literature, to propose a novel solution to such a problem. Students will prepare a formal written report and make an oral presentation to an interested audience. To earn credit students must also complete the American Chemical Society Diagnostic of Undergraduate Knowledge (DUCK) examination.
