PSY-P 364: MULTICULTURAL ISSUES IN COUNSELING (3 credits)

About

This course is meant to provide you a thorough introduction of working with diverse groups in therapy settings. We will cover the mostly likely to be treated groups but may visit others as a part of student interest and extra time. Consider this a course that will move you beyond your current understanding of diversity and allow you to consider different worldviews and issues that relate to those who are both similar and dissimilar from you. This course is designed to also increase self-awareness and facilitate appreciation of group differences as well as similarities. It will also focus on how to create system-level change in regard to racial and ethnic group relations.
