NURS-H 372: CONCEPTS IN MENTAL HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN (3 credits)

About

This course focuses on select mental health and mental illness concepts that are encountered in individuals across the lifespan. By applying these concepts to prevalence-based exemplars, students will learn care management strategies aimed at mental health promotion/ mental illness prevention, treatment of human responses to mental health disorders, or rehabilitation of individuals with chronic mental health disorders. Ongoing components of this course will include application of therapeutic communication techniques with individuals who are experiencing mental health disorders and managing the unique safety issues related to people with mental health disorders. This course builds on concepts discussed in introductory nursing courses.
