About
This course is intended as an introduction to philosophical reflection on the meaning of life, the significance of death, and the possibility of immortality. We will explore three fundamental questions: whether life has meaning or should be regarded as absurd, whether death is an evil for the person who dies, and whether immortality is possible and desirable. Since meaning, death, and immortality are central themes in all human cultures and traditions, the course aims to make interdisciplinary connections with religion, literature, and art.
