This course will survey the process for obtaining an Indiana State License in addictions counseling as well as the state and national certification options. It will include the following areas as related to state certification: 12 core functions, documentation standards, counseling theories related to addictions, use of DSM IV TR, legal and ethical requirements, case studies, basic pharmacology, case presentation methods, confidentiality, and role boundaries.
