MATH-B 111: MATHEMATICS FOR BUSINESS AND SOCIAL SCIENCE (3 credits)

About

With successful completion of this course, the student will have algebraic skills and tools that are used for problem-solving in the business and social science professions and be prepared for MATH-M118 (Finite Mathematics) and Statistics. The college algebra topics will include, but are not limited to the following: Solve equations and inequalities; evaluate functions; solve systems of linear equations; graph equations and functions; interpret graphs/tables/charts of equations and functions; perform algebraic operations on polynomial, rational, radical expressions in one/several variables; develop mathematical model from a word problem; apply these algebraic concepts and skills in business and social science applications.
