This course introduces students to qualitative methodological techniques and theories. Students will review the fundamentals of the scientific method, develop their ability to create quality research designs, and learn how to choose the most appropriate research method(s) for a given project. Methods and topics to be discussed include the case study approach, path dependence, process tracing, counterfactuals, causality, and historical analysis.
